Technicore Group of Companies (“Technicore”) is 100% Canadian owned and operated and one of this country’s big players in heavy underground construction and steel and concrete pressure pipe manufacturing. Our portfolio stems across various areas including rail, transit and pedestrian tunnels, watermain, storm and sanitary sewer, as well as hydro and utility tunnels. Technicore operates as a fully vertically integrated company with cross-functional subsidiaries to include manufacturing and servicing, sewer and water pipe, tunnel & shaft support systems manufacturing, haulage and specialty concrete mixes for civil works.
We are looking to add a Hydraulic Mechanic to join our team at our facility in Newmarket, Ontario.
Responsibilities
· Troubleshoot and inspect TBMs to detect faults and malfunctions
· Determine extent of repair required
· Adjust TBMs and repair or replace defective parts
· Test repaired equipment for proper performance
· Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
· Service attachments and working tools
· Verify and repair emission control systems
· Annual safety inspections
· Order parts and maintain inventory; Keep maintenance reports and documents
· Hydraulic and power train transmissions, drive trains and final drives, circuits
Qualifications
· Completion of College/CEGEP/Vocational or Technical Training
· 5-8 years experience building and servicing Tunnel Boring Machines
· Tunnel Boring Machine work experience is mandatory
· Physically fit, able to perform bending, crouching, kneeling tasks
· Physically demanding, ability to lift 23kg (50 lbs.) of weight

· Ability to communicate clearly, read, write in English
· Must be punctual and have a strong work ethic
· Keen eye to get ahead to prepare/complete the next task at hand
· Takes pride in doing good quality work
· Works well in a team environment
· Has a desire to keep work areas clean and debris free
Working Conditions
· Physical Effort Required: Constant bending, standing, walking, lifting approx. 23kg (50 lbs.)
· Physical Environment: Outdoor work environment which could include exposure to adverse weather conditions. Safety boots and associated PPE are required for all time spent on the floor and/or yard
Work Hours
· Full-time; 7am – 5pm Monday to Friday, overtime
· Evenings, nights and weekends possible
Equipment Required
· Must supply own CSA approved work boots
· Must have access to own transportation
